Nadia Wolff is a Haitian-american interdisciplinary visual artist and tattoo artist from Miami, Florida. They draw from Black feminist and diasporic theory/ontology as a basis for their creative work. Their work contemplates Black– particularly Black Caribbean– aesthetics and spirituality through a lens of intimacy. They are compelled by objects/motifs that speak to notions of belonging and the histories of trauma and power marked on the territories we come from. Via installation, textiles, performance, painting, and poetic interventions, their projects process definitions of embodied knowledge and present visions of Black, queer utopia. They do not italicize the Kreyol within their work by creating, speaking, and producing while assuming that their people are already in the room.
Third Horizon Forward is made possible with partnership from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and JustFilms Ford Foundation. Additional support provided by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, as well as the Miami Foundation.
